Planning Locally for Livability. The video focuses on comprehensive plans in development by Blue Island and Campton Hills, and on the sustainability plan by prepared by Park Forest.  These projects benefit from the CMAP Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program, which is supported by a three-year, $4.25 million HUD Sustainable Communities grant that funds CMAP staff assistance to help local governments, nonprofits, and other organizations to help implement the GO TO 2040 comprehensive regional plan.

Bus on Shoulder pilot begins.  On November 14, 2011, Pace buses began using sections of the Interstate 55 shoulders to avoid congestion during the morning and evening rush hours. The Bus on Shoulder program is a two-year pilot project that will run on express bus routes from Will County to the city of Chicago.

Chicago Water Taxi improves air quality, mitigates congestion. A short video on how the Chicago Water Taxi is transporting commuters in Chicago. The Bravo Water Taxi was funded through the Congestion Mitigation Air Quality Improvement (CMAQ) Program by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP).

CMAP's Local Technical Assistance (LTA) Program. CMAP's Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program is supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. It allows CMAP staff to help local communities and organizations to implement the GO TO 2040 comprehensive regional plan. Projects include the development of a comprehensive plan for the Village of Campton Hills, land use planning and redevelopment of the Old Joliet Prison site, and the development of the City of Chicago's Green and Healthy Neighborhood Plan.

LaGrange Park Student Event.  The 167 students in Ms. Schuler's class spent two weeks learning about the GO TO 2040 comprehensive regional plan's recommendations to Promote Sustainable Local Food, culminating in an open house to share their implementation ideas with CMAP Board Chair Mayor Gerald Bennett of Palos Hills, CMAP Board member President Mike Gorman of Riverside, Mayor James Discipio of LaGrange Park, Mayor Elizabeth Asperger of LaGrange, Mayor Michael Garvey of Brookfield, and CMAP executive director Randy Blankenhorn, as well as family and friends.
