Prior to formation of CMAP, the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission (NIPC) was responsible for the region's official forecasts of population, households, and employment. On September 27, 2006, NIPC Commissioners voted to endorse the following revised 2030 forecasts for the six-county region of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will. In the future, forecasts will be the responsibility of CMAP and will cover the seven-county region that includes Kendall County.

Underlined numbers represent corrections to the 2000 base figures, while boldface numbers signify where changes to the 2030 municipal forecast figures have been made.
