NEWS RELEASE:  Regional data and analysis show challenges and opportunities facing metropolitan Chicago's economy, 7-7-14
Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning launches web "microsite" with a series of economic indicators for the seven-county region. Read more in press release

NEWS RELEASE:  Anticipated federal grant requirements will provide incentives for municipalities to plan for future housing needs, 2-27-14
CMAP and the Chicago Area Fair Housing Alliance (CAFHA) have released Fair Housing and Equity Assessment: Metropolitan Chicago. The report finds that communities with a well-balanced supply of housing enjoy many economic and social benefits as a result. Read more in a joint press release.  

NEWS RELEASE: More than 50 projects will receive $286 million to reduce congestion, improve air quality in metropolitan Chicago, 11-12-13
More than 50 projects will receive federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement program funds allocated by CMAP. As described in a press release, residents will benefit from improved transit, roads, bicycle, and pedestrian facilities thanks to federal transportation funds programmed over the next four years in support of GO TO 2040 goals. 

NEWS Release: Over 30 new local GO TO 2040 implementation projects help communities develop and deploy their own plans, 11-7-13
Thirty-two new projects led by municipalities and nonprofits from across the seven-county metropolitan Chicago region will receive staff assistance or grants to support community-driven local implementation of the GO TO 2040 comprehensive regional plan through CMAP's Local Technical Assistance program. Read more in the press release.

NEWS Release: Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning Receives Prestigious National Planning Award, 1-9-13
The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) will receive the 2013 National Planning Excellence Award for a Planning Agency from the American Planning Association. Created in 2005, CMAP is the regional planning organization for the northeastern Illinois counties of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will, and is responsible for producing the region's comprehensive plan.
