America Walks has prepared case studies highlighting the actions of three states – Iowa, Massachusetts, and Oregon – to support walking for all ages and abilities and to foster walkable environments by leveraging shared goals and the expertise of professionals working in public health, transportation, and commerce.  Approaches include the use of health impact assessments, data sharing, and uniting disciplines and programs.

These case studies complement a series on innovative approaches to highlighting four elected officials and their campaigns to increase walkability in their home towns (Batesville, AR, Columbia, MO, Arlington County, VA, and Oklahoma City, OK).
