CMAP Weekly Update, 2-21-14

First Off...

GO TO 2040 update indicators.  The GO TO 2040 comprehensive regional plan established a series of indicators and related targets to gauge implementation progress.  CMAP has initiated an update to the plan in accordance with federal law.  While its four themes and 12 recommendation areas will not change, the update process allows CMAP to reevaluate GO TO 2040 performance measures and goals.  A Policy Update describes all the indicators to be used in the plan update.

Resurrection Project. Congratulations to The Resurrection Project (TRP) and CMAP Board member Raul Raymundo for being honored at the 20th Annual Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards presented by LISC Chicago. For its work in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood, TRP received the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Award for Outstanding Non-Profit Neighborhood Real Estate Project. And for his work as TRP's CEO, Raul received the Richard M. Daley Friend of the Neighborhood Award. See the awards video.

Cook County plan.  CMAP's Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program is supporting Cook County's Planning for Progress effort.  Pictures are available from its kickoff meeting and recent series of interactive workshops. The strategic plan will guide funding requests, investments, and partnerships over the next five years for affordable housing and community and economic development.
