FHWA “Safer Journey” revised
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has revised its pedestrian safety education tool, "Safer Journey." The tool is geared towards school-aged children, with separate modules (videos, quizzes, lesson plans) for three age groups: 5-9; 10-14; and 15-18. The tool can be used as a stand-alone introduction to pedestrian safety skills or as part of a more comprehensive curriculum. It is designed to be used in either a classroom or a one-on-one setting. The material teaches basic skills of pedestrian safety, which can help prevent injuries and instill habits for lifetime of safe walking.
