The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is offering free trail designation signs to Grand Illinois Trail (GIT) partner jurisdictions for both on- and off-road segments, including:
- On-Road, 18x18" reflective
- Turn arrow signs – left, right & forward
- Off-Road, 8x8" non-reflective
- 4x4" PVC confidence markers.
Jurisdictions are responsible for sign installation and maintenance. Replacement signs are also offered at no charge. Partner jurisdictions should provide the GIT Trail Coordinator with the quantity of signs for each sign type/size needed to update their portion of the GIT in both directions.
