A study by Redfin, the Seattle-based real estate brokerage service, finds that one WalkScore point can increase the price of a home by an average of $3,250 or 0.9 percent.

In order to estimate how much walkability – as measured by Walk Score – is worth when buying or selling a home, Redfin compared the sale prices and Walk Score ratings of more than one million homes sold between January 2014 and April 2016 across 14 major metropolitan areas.
