Pedestrians accounted for nearly 15 percent of all traffic deaths in 2012, according to a new report from Smart Growth America, which is up 6 percent from the previous year and represents a five-year high.

Dangerous by Design 2014 presents information, data, and analysis on fatal pedestrian crashes for counties, metropolitan areas, and states.  The report looks at where these fatalities happen, who may be most at risk, and what might be done to reduce these fatalities and make the streets safer for everyone.
