The design is intended to give truck drivers a better view of the road and nearby cyclists. Such solutions were necessitated because in 2015, 7 out of a total of 8 bike crash fatalities in London involved trucks. Plus, a recent report found that cyclists will soon outnumber automobiles during peak commuting times in central London.
