A recently developed smart phone application called pathVu will collect data submitted by its users about the quality and condition of sidewalks, giving users the option to map their routes to avoid tripping hazards or unsafe sidewalks that may impede mobility.  Hazards and other features become part of the application's map and the application will sound an alarm when pathVu users approach a tripping hazard. The goal is for people of any ability to fully and safely enjoy pedestrian paths, while helping make communities more walkable.
