SRTSNP produces toolkit for starting a walking school bus
The Safe Routes to School National Partnership (SRTSNP), in collaboration with the California Department of Health, has produced a toolkit designed to help parents, educators, and other community members plan and organize a walking school bus using adult volunteers as leaders.
The step-by-step guide outlines how to plan, organize, and implement a walking school bus program for an elementary school. The guide includes proven tools, tips, and resources to create a walking school bus program quickly and with limited resources. The guide begins with an introduction and overview of Safe Routes to School and the concept of a walking school bus for those who are unfamiliar with the program and/or the activity.
