People for Bikes' Green Lane Project is asking implementing agencies around the country to complete their new Survey of Cities on Protected Bike Lane Designs.  The survey is intended primarily for public agencies, especially municipalities, that plan and build on-street bicycle facilities, especially municipalities, and is looking for the opinions of project designers, engineers, bicycle and pedestrian coordinators, as well as consultants and other professionals working with or on behalf of cities.  The survey, which takes about 15 minutes to complete, asks whether an agency is building protected bike lanes and if so, what types; how an agency is funding the design and construction of the bikeways they are building;  do AASHTO guides and the MUTCD offer the guidance needed;  what additional information or guidance would help most; is more training needed, and if so, in what specific areas.
