The Green Infrastructure Vision (GIV) is a spatial dataset representing the Chicago Wilderness Biodiversity Recovery Plan.  The GIV data help to inform conservation and restoration opportunities for the region's natural resources

In partnership with Chicago Wilderness and The Conservation Fund, CMAP has released a new study estimating the contributions of the GIV to our regional economy. The study found that the natural areas identified in the GIV provide an estimated 6.4 billion of flood control, water filtration, groundwater recharge, and carbon storage value to the Chicago area. The GIS data behind this analysis is available on the CMAP Data Sharing Hub.  Also available is a variety of spatial information about type and quality of ecosystems that comprise the regional green infrastructure network.
