The City of Chicago has announced that the Union Station Transit Center (USTC), a state-of-the-art new CTA bus boarding facility, will begin service on Sunday, September 4. CMAP is pleased to have provided $26.3 million in federal funds for the Union Station Transit Center, which will make it much easier for travelers to access CTA and private buses, shuttles, and Metra and Amtrak trains at this historic station that has served our region for nearly a century. This CDOT project is a prime example of how to modernize existing assets and infrastructure, as emphasized in the GO TO 2040 comprehensive regional plan. Read more in the Chicago Tribune.
