Webinar on tapping into HSIP funds for SRTS
The Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) is focused on reducing highway fatalities and serious injuries, though its resources can also be used on local roads. Bicycle and pedestrian projects – including non-infrastructure education and encouragement campaigns – are eligible for HSIP funding. In a webinar on August 1, attendees will hear from FHWA representatives and others on the origin of the program, eligibility and criteria for the use of HSIP funds, and innovative approaches to accessing HSIP dollars for bicycle and pedestrian projects and programs.
The webinar is organized by the Safe Routes to School National Partnership (SRTSNP). It will take place tomorrow, August 1, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. CT. The webinar is free but requires advance registration. For more information and to register, visit the SRTSNP website.
