Illinois monthly report on stimulus progress available for March

The Governor’s office provides monthly reports to the General Assembly on stimulus progress throughout the state.  The March 2010 report is now available online and features recent grant awards, as well as updates on high-speed rail and broadband projects.  Managers have been selected for construction of the Chicago to St. Louis high-speed rail project, as well as the CREATE (Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency) program construction of the P1 Englewood Flyover.  Both projects will begin construction this year.  (Past Recovery blog posts include more information on high-speed rail and CREATE awards).  Illinois received over $55 million in stimulus grants for broadband initiatives thus far, including $7 million granted to the City of Chicago for the SmartChicago Sustainable Broadband Adoption program.
