Local Economic Impact Analysis CMAP has software designed to assess the economic impacts of any major development within a community. This can provide practitioners with crucial information that enables them to better understand the likely outcome of their decisions before committing to a plan, and guide the development of wise local planning and economic strategies. If you would like to have an economic impact analysis done for your community please contact Brian Rademacher (312) 386-8668 or brademacher@cmap.illinois.gov. |

Full Circle CMAP's most
requested technical assistance program, Full Circle is an asset mapping
and community planning tool that empowers communities to collect
real-time data for planning projects. The project has three
main objectives: 1) to ensure that neighborhood concerns are fully
articulated within the larger public planning process; 2) to give local
residents access to the best planning tools and processes; and 3) to
establish mechanisms for a continuous exchange of data, ideas, goals,
and intentions between community residents, local groups, policy
makers, and planners. The project is driven by the belief that good
planning requires input from local community stakeholders.
Learn more about Full Circle and how local community organizations have leveraged Full Circle resources here. Specific questions can be addressed to Sef Okoth at sokoth@cmap.illinois.gov or (312) 386-8729.

Return on Investment (ROI) Model The ROI Model is designed to help municipalities determine whether their existing land use regulations allow development which is feasible for the developer, helping to identify which regulations need to be modified to achieve the type of development desired by the municipality. ROI can also aid municipal staff in their evaluation of proposed developments currently under review. More details are available here. CMAP has begun offering free, one-day classes to train municipal planners how to use this helpful tool, which itself is provided free of charge to municipal staff once they complete the training. If you are interested in attending the next class, please contact Stephen Ostrander at sostrander@cmap.illinois.gov or (312) 386-8696. |

Centers Toolkit The Centers Toolkit helps communities identify the characteristics desirable for their community centers and then select the associated features they would like to implement in their areas. The toolkit provides lists of potential benefits, typical implementation approaches, and relevant case studies. Typically used in community discussions, the Toolkit can help participants evaluate the features they select, and provides them with a list of planning priorities for their center, along with a set of implementation tools and strategies to help them achieve their goals. This can serve as a foundation for future planning efforts. A guide to the Toolkit is available here. Municipalities can download a free copy of the Centers Toolkit - for more information, please contact Ty Warner at twarner@cmap.illinois.gov or (312) 386-8606.
