CMAP uses Census and other data products to prepare forecasts of population and employment for use in regional planning and policy analysis.  Important Census products include the 2010 decennial enumeration and the multi-year American Community Survey (ACS).  CMAP forecasts are used primarily for evaluating regional planning and policy scenarios consistent with the recommendations found in GO TO 2040.  The current forecasts were prepared in 2010 to reflect the expected geographic distribution of population and jobs resulting from implementation of GO TO 2040.  The 2040 forecasts are reviewed and updated every four years to coincide with adoption of the region's long-range plan.
