A Subarea Plan for Morton Grove Industrial Areas
The Village of Morton Grove is an inner-ring suburb located northwest of the City of Chicago. The Village has two industrial areas which are home to several businesses. Building upon previous planning studies, market analyses, existing conditions, and community input, CMAP's Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program is helping Morton Grove to draft an Industrial Areas Subarea plan. This plan will examine the industrial areas' relationship with the regional industrial market and the surrounding land uses, as well as provide guidance for the area's future growth and prosperity.
The process includes three phases. The first phase includes an analysis of the area's existing conditions, as well as gathering initial public input regarding the issues and opportunities for the industrial area. The second phase consists of creating a shared vision and outlining specific goals and recommendations necessary to achieve the vision. The third phase is developing an implementation strategy that puts the goals and recommendations into action.

Events
The public will have several opportunities to participate in the planning process. CMAP and Village Staff have already begun to present at elected and appointed officials public meetings. They also held a public community meeting on June 26, 2012.
For more information on upcoming meetings, please check back on Morton Grove's project page or contact Berenice Vallecillos, Community Outreach Specialist at CMAP (bvallecillos@cmap.illinois.gov or 312-386-8623).
Public Engagement
As a business owner or property owner within the industrial areas, your input is critical to the success of this plan. CMAP would like to hear your perspective. We encourage you to participate in the plan development through an interview with CMAP or through our quick survey you can find here. The interviews can be conducted over the phone, email, in-person, or through small group interviews. Please contact Berenice Vallecillos (bvallecillos@cmap.illinois.gov or 312-386-8623) to schedule an interview.
