A New Comprehensive Plan for Round Lake Heights

The Village of Round Lake Heights is partnering with CMAP's Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program to begin an interactive, community-based process to update its comprehensive plan. The plan will build on Round Lake Heights' key assets, providing guidance for decisions on topics such as land use, infrastructure, housing, and open space.

A Zoning Ordinance for Berwyn

The City of Berwyn recently created and adopted the Berwyn Comprehensive Plan. The City has already undertaken initiatives to revitalize commercial centers and install bike signage to promote safe biking. Now, with help from CMAP’s Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program, the City is working toward another major Comprehensive Plan recommendation: revising its zoning ordinance.

A Comprehensive Plan for Bensenville

The Village of Bensenville will undergo a major transformation over the next few decades, driven primarily by the expansion of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. To capitalize on the unique opportunities presented by this project as well as accommodate upcoming changes, the Village is creating a new comprehensive plan with assistance from CMAP’s Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program.

Local Technical Assistance Program

The LTA home page has details of activities sponsored by the HUD Sustainable Communities grant to CMAP for support of community projects that advance the principles of GO TO 2040.  Planning assistance and grants for local projects across metropolitan Chicago are now available through the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) Community Planning Program and CMAP Local Technical Assistance Program at www.rtachicago.com/applications.

An interactive map of local case studies describes projects and people that exemplify the goals and objectives of GO TO 2040. 
 

CMAP's Local Ordinances and Toolkits program provides resources to municipalities interested in pursuing policies that are aligned with GO TO 2040 recommendations.
