NEWS Release: Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning Receives Prestigious National Planning Award, 1-9-13
The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) will receive the 2013 National Planning Excellence Award for a Planning Agency from the American Planning Association. Created in 2005, CMAP is the regional planning organization for the northeastern Illinois counties of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will, and is responsible for producing the region's comprehensive plan. NEWS RELEASE: Local planning across metropolitan Chicago gets a boost from Ideas Exchange event, grants, and community-based projects, 5-24-12

Extending the CTA Red Line south to 130th Street as recommended by GO TO 2040 would significantly improve access to job opportunities, educational institutions, health facilities, and other resources for Greater Roseland residents, as described in a new "livability report" at cmap.illinois.gov/red-line. The site also features an outreach brochure and map gallery, all developed through CMAP's Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program in collaboration with the Developing Communities Project (DCP) and the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA).
