The arrival of 2010 marks the 10th anniversary of the Phillip D. Peters Regional Planning Fellowship Program.
A Truly Unique Program in Support of Our Region
As one of the only fellowships of its kind across the country, the Peters Fellowship provides a graduate student with a paid work and enrichment experience in one of the nation's largest metropolitan areas at a major regional planning agency – the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning. Past fellows have worked in such areas as environmental and land use planning; Transportation planning and sustainable neighborhoods.
Through the Peters Fellowship Program, we hope the best and brightest students will regard regional planning as a viable career and to view Northeastern Illinois as a place to apply their talents.
To 2020 and Beyond: Securing Our Future
The 10th anniversary also inspires us to ensure that the Fellowship can continue its mission into the future. The Advisory Committee of the Fellowship Program is undertaking a fundraiser to ensure we have the resources to fund the annual Fellowship through 2020. Our fundraising goal is an ambitious $45,000. With your help, we can build our endowment to ensure that students will be able to participate in this Fellowship, which benefits the whole of Chicago and the Northeastern Illinois region.
