The Village of Addison recently completed an interactive community-based process to update its comprehensive plan. The plan provides a framework to make informed investment decisions to address current issues and reach long term goals.
Strategically situated in northeast DuPage County, Addison provides a wealth of amenities to its residents, businesses, and industries. Addison's assets include vibrant neighborhoods, stable industrial sectors, strong commercial districts, and proximity to O'Hare airport just 10 miles away. The comprehensive plan will build upon the community's assets and identify ways to support regional goals from the comprehensive regional plan.
The process to update the comprehensive plan includes three phases. The first phase includes a detailed analysis of existing land uses and community facilities, as well as gathering initial public input regarding the issues and opportunities in the village. The second phase consists of creating a shared vision and identifying specific goals and recommendations to achieve it. The third phase will develop an implementation strategy to put the plan's recommendations into action.
Together, the Village of Addison, community stakeholders, CMAP, and village staff will explore opportunities in land use planning, residential and commercial development, transportation, parks and open space, and numerous other aspects important to the village's prosperity.
