Chicago Metro Metal Consortium

Chicago Metro Metal Consortium

The Chicago Metro Metal Consortium (CMMC) requested CMAP's assistance to prioritize transportation infrastructure investments based on their impact on metals manufacturing.  CMMC has the authority to identify one project within the Chicago metropolitan area which best supports metals manufacturing, and this project is given additional consideration in the federal TIGER application process.

On April 24, 2015, the Consortium selected the Touhy Avenue Improvements project as the region's most supportive project for metals manufacturing.  The project, located immediately to the north of O'Hare Airport, serves the region's highest concentration of metals manufacturers and is an important element of the Elgin O'Hare Western Access program of transportation improvements.

Decisions on the 2015 TIGER call for projects are expected in Fall 2015.
