Originally settled in 1836 and incorporated in 1876, the Village of Hampshire is located in northwest Kane County approximately 55 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. The Village is 9 square miles in area, surrounded primarily by agricultural land, and has a population of 5,563. For demographic information on the Village, view the Community Data Snapshot.
With support from CMAP's Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program, this Planning Priorities report will consist of three phases to be completed in approximately nine months. The first phase will involve an examination of previous planning efforts and an analysis of existing conditions by CMAP staff in collaboration with the Village. The second phase will focus on outreach to community stakeholders, and the third phase will include the creation of a consensus-based planning priorities report with near-term strategies for the Village's leadership and appointed officials.
