Programs & Resources
This section of the CMAP website includes information about important Program activities that are distinct from -- yet that also support -- implementation of the GO TO 2040 plan, among other regional objectives. Also linked below are Resources that include recent and older publications, training, and selected archival web pages.
Local Technical Assistance (LTA)
CMAP has initiated 112 LTA projects with local governments, nonprofits, and intergovernmental organizations to address local issues at the intersection of transportation, land use, and housing, including the natural environment, economic growth, and community development.
Local Ordinances and Toolkits
CMAP provides model plans, ordinances, codes, and other tools to municipalities interested in pursuing policies that are aligned with GO TO 2040 recommendations.
Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
The TIP lists all of the region's federally funded projects and regionally significant, non-federally funded projects programmed for implementation in the next four years. The TIP is updated and amended regularly through the CMAP Transportation Committee.
CMAP provides training for municipal officials and others who want to learn about tools for planning, GIS, economic development, data analysis, and more.
Publications & Archive
CMAP publications include Annual Reports, Technical Reports, Plans and Guides, GO TO 2040 Strategy Papers, and Regional Snapshot Reports. This page also contains archival information about CMAP activities that are dormant or discontinued, including planning related to the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA), Green Practices, Full Circle, Housing Assistance, Chicago Wilderness Sustainable Watershed Action Team, and prior plans developed by CMAP's predecessor agencies.
Case Studies Library
Available as an interactive map, this library contains examples of work from around the seven-county region that exemplify the goals and objectives of GO TO 2040.
