System operators and project implementers need to know what construction projects other agencies have scheduled, so they can create the best operations plans in response. To address this need, CMAP and the newly formed Lake Michigan Interstate Gateway Alliance (LMIGA) sponsored the 2009 Regional Operations-Construction Coordination meeting on Tuesday, January 20th in CMAP's Chicago office. This meeting was an opportunity for those who are responsible for constructing and operating the region's transportation systems to coordinate planned 2009 construction projects and traffic operations among the region's multiple jurisdictions. Participants presented information on construction projects anticipated during 2009. Documents discussed during the meeting and provided afterward are presented on the left column in the table below. While the projects are anticipated, many circumstances can change project construction schedules. This is a snapshot of what was expected as of January 20, 2009. We have completed mapping the project information provided at the meeting, as well as the region's Recovery Projects. Be aware that projects and project schedules can change as time goes by. If you have any comments or corrections, please contact Claire Bozic, via email or telephone 312-386-8744. You may view the CONSTRUCTION MAP and accompanying PROJECT DESCRIPTION TABLE online, or download and print the information. The map is formatted for "E" size paper.
Note: Many of the presentations are rotated, with no apparent way to rotate them back for easier viewing. To accomplish this, click on the link and get the "bad" view. At the top righthand side of the page, you will find a blue circle with a green arrow on it. Click on this and select "open" and the document will open in Adobe reader with the normal options, including rotate view. You can also save the document instead, if you wish.
