2012 Operations and Construction Coordination Meeting

The 2012 meeting was held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.  (View Invitation, View Agenda, Sign-in Sheet)  The northeastern Illinois Construction meeting took place before lunch, with participants presenting information about planned 2012 construction.  After lunch, the Great Lakes Regional Transportation Operations Coalition continued the discussion of projects around the great lakes, in the I-94 Corridor.  Representatives of Ontario Canada, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin attended via webinar.   If you have any questions, please contact Claire Bozic (cbozic@cmap.illinois.gov or 312-386-8744).

2012 Construction Season Map

The information provided by project sponsors was combined into one map.  Keep in mind that construction schedules can change at any time, and this is a snapshot of the activities the region expected as of February 1, 2012.   For some projects, we only have location information and a general timeframe of  "this construction season."  In addition, we do not have any information available for municipalities, including the city of Chicago, at this time.

Real Time Construction Information

The Gateway Traveler Information System provides real time travel information, including construction information,  to the public through the Travel Midwest website.  Special reports containing this information are also provided to commercial vehicle operators who subscribe to the Travel Midwest Truckers Reports (printable brochure).  This information can help improve safety by steering traffic away from construction zones.   Project implementers are encouraged to provide construction information by emailing information to the Travel Midwest Operator.  Details on how to provide construction information to the Travel Midwest Operator are included in this letter.
