2013 Operations and Construction Coordination Meeting

The 2013 meeting was held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 with good weather and no need to use the snow day (view and print invitation or agenda , sign in sheet). The northeastern Illinois Construction portion took place before lunch, with participants presenting information about planned 2013 construction.  After lunch, the Great Lakes Regional Transportation Operations Coalition  members continued the discussion of high impact projects around the Great Lakes.  The meeting was also available via webinar for those who could not make the trip to Chicago.  Thank you to all who dedicated a half or whole day to the event.  If you have any questions, please contact Claire Bozic (cbozic@cmap.illinois.gov or 312-386-8744).

2013 Construction Season Map (not yet available)

The information provided by project sponsors will be combined into one map.  Keep in mind that construction schedules can change at any time, and this is a snapshot of the activities the region expected as of February 6, 2013.   For some projects, we only have location information and a general timeframe of  "this construction season."

Real Time Construction Information

The Gateway Traveler Information System provides real time travel information, including construction information,  to the public through the Travel Midwest website.  Special reports containing this information are also provided to commercial vehicle operators who subscribe to the Travel Midwest Truckers Reports (printable brochure).  This information can help improve safety by steering traffic away from construction zones.   Project implementers are encouraged to provide construction information by emailing information to the Travel Midwest Operator.  Details on how to provide construction information to the Travel Midwest Operator are included in this letter.
