Mayor, Village of Libertyville
Terry Weppler is currently serving as Mayor for the Village of Libertyville, which is located in Lake County.
Previously, he served as a village trustee from 1979-85. Weppler has served on the village’s Urban Planning, Human Relations, Traffic and Police, and Fire Commissions. He is also the appointed Village Prosecutor for the Villages of Glencoe and Kenilworth and has served on the Lake County Regional Plan Commission for more than 10 years.
Weppler earned a BA in Law Enforcement Administration from Western Illinois University and worked as a police officer, fireman, and emergency medical technician in the Village of Glencoe before his graduation from John Marshall Law School in 1991. He has been active in MainStreet Libertyville, the Jaycee’s, YMCA Indian Guides, Sunrise Rotary, Kiwanis, Libertyville Days, and the Wildcats Fine Arts and Civic Center Foundations.
