ADA training pilot

ADA training pilot

The ADA pilot includes an overview of CMAP’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) training program, including compressed versions of the upcoming sessions and available resources. The training program is designed to educate local communities on the ADA and their obligations under the ADA with a focus on the public right-of-way with topics that include ADA and Title II requirements, completing a self-evaluation, the role of an ADA coordinator, and developing a transition plan.

Attendees will both learn and provide feedback to the project team on the proposed content and any additional topics that would be valuable to their communities. This interactive workshop will include opportunities to ask questions, and the project team will ask specific questions to attendees to help shape the overall training program. This workshop is a critical step to develop a larger training program that is valuable to local municipalities.

This pilot is meant for ADA coordinators, municipal staff, community leaders, and anyone interested in learning about how to make their communities more accessible.

  • When: Tuesday, November 15, 2022, 9:00 a.m – 1:00 p.m.
  • Where: CMAP office: Old Post Office, 433 Van Buren St., Suite 450, Chicago

Thank you to all those who attended. CMAP may be offering this module again in the future. Stay tuned!
