The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) released results from a survey of residents of transit-oriented developments (TOD) in the suburbs of Chicago. The report includes key findings on why individuals choose to live in a TOD area and the effect of TOD and availability of transit service on lifestyle choices and travel behaviors.

The GO TO 2040 comprehensive regional plan recommends that the region increase its commitment to transit by focusing on maintenance and modernization, improving fiscal health, and supporting small-scale, local infrastructure improvements.  In conjunction with the RTA Community Planning Program, the CMAP Local Technical Assistance program helps communities pursue planning work that help implement GO TO 2040.
