The Chicagoland Complete Streets Coalition is hosting a one-day workshop with Mark Fenton, a national planning and transportation expert and dynamic public speaker.

The workshop takes place May 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Gleacher Center in downtown Chicago (450 North Cityfront Plaza Dr.). The workshop is free, and open to non-Coalition members on a first-come, first-serve basis, but does require advance registration.  For questions about the workshop, please contact Hanna Kite at hanna@activetrans.org or (312) 216-0485.

At the workshop, Mr. Fenton will deliver a keynote speech on the relationship and synergies between land-use planning and Complete Streets, and discuss how land use and density can be leveraged to advance Complete Streets and promote racial and socioeconomic equity.  Following the keynote, Mr. Fenton will lead a discussion on working with private development to incorporate active transportation facilities, including framing messages for multiple stakeholders. Mr. Fenton will also lead a walking tour of innovative bicycle, pedestrian, and transit facilities in downtown Chicago.
