The U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) recently announced a call for applications under the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Discretionary Grant program. The program will award approximately $600 million nationwide.   In the past, large-scale bicycle and pedestrian projects have been successful in obtaining funding through this program.

In order to help sponsors and advocacy organizations prepare successful applications, Advocacy Advance – the Alliance for Biking and Walking's partnership with the League of American Bicyclists – has posted a recent webinar about the FY 2014 TIGER program, showcasing tips from successful past applicants. The webinar includes presentations from Sahar Shirazi, of USDOT's Office of the Secretary, Darla Latourneau from BikeWalkLee, and Erik Frisch from the City of Rochester, NY.
