The Transportation Research Board made available a number of recorded presentations (from March 2016), discussing pedestrian and driver behaviors in relation to various traffic controls at signalized crossing locations. The researchers examined pedestrian crossing behaviors at various density levels, together with vehicle turning maneuvers and patterns at signalized crosswalks. The research is based on analysis of video data collected in the U.S. and Japan. The purpose of the research was to better understand how pedestrians behave at crosswalks, where pedestrian-vehicle conflict points are located, and how trajectory paths are defined.
