A new plan for Belmont Cragin

The Belmont Cragin neighborhood in Chicago has adopted and begun implementing a new plan, Avenues for Growth, which was created in partnership with CMAP's Local Technical Assistance Program and the Northwest Side Housing Center and its subsidiary Northwest Side Community Development Corporation. Steered by community residents, the plan focuses on growing Belmont Cragin’s key commercial corridors -- Diversey Avenue, Fullerton Avenue, and Grand Avenue -- through economic development, transportation, public spaces, and housing, and commits to a "development without displacement" agenda.
