The Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, as part of the Transportation Alternatives Data Exchange (TrADE) program, has released "FY 1992-2014 Transportation Alternatives Spending Report."  The report provides insight into how Transportation Enhancement (TE) and Transportation Alternatives (TA) funds are being used at the national and state levels.   It documents the initial responses of states as they transitioned from Transportation Enhancements to the Transportation Alternatives Program in Fiscal Year 2014 through an analysis of actual financial and programming data collected from two sources: a survey of state DOTs (TrADE project database) and the Federal Highway Administration's Fiscal Management Information System (FMIS).   The report is intended as a resource and tool for agency staff, policy makers, professionals, and citizens who want to better get a clearer view of how federal funding shapes America's transportation system and its communities. The report will help interested parties understand how one state compares with others when it comes to spending federal TE and TA funds.
