CMAP Weekly Update, 2-18-22

Improving access to broadband internet

Access to broadband is more important than ever. New laws like the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act offer a pivotal opportunity for communities to implement improvements that can provide faster and more reliable internet speeds for northeastern Illinois residents.

The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) recently highlighted strategies and resources planners can use to address barriers to access in their communities and prioritize projects that can shorten the digital divide.

CMAP's open requests for proposals

CMAP has three open requests for proposals (RFPs) for a website migration and redesign; regional infrastructure accelerator and public-private partnership program management consultant; and Americans with Disabilities Act transition plan and self-evaluation training.
